Vandan Patel, MD

Dr. Vandan Patel is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan and specializes in treating disorders of the Foot and Ankle. Raised in Virginia Beach, VA, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia. He then stayed and earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He then moved to Ann Arbor and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Michigan, where he served as administrative chief resident in his final year. Dr. Patel went on complete additional fellowship training in Foot and Ankle surgery at the prestigious Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy in Baltimore, MD, where he learned from leaders in the field in minimally invasive surgery as well as ankle replacement surgery. During his training, Dr. Patel has published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings. Dr. Patel returned to Ann Arbor in the fall of 2023 to join as faculty at the University of Michigan.
